Jennifer Carter is an accomplished author, a certified canine nutritionist, and a certified K9 Nosework instructor. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and Animal Science from the University of Georgia, as well as two Master's degrees—one from the University of New Haven and the other from Virginia Tech. Currently, she is pursuing her Ph.D. at Virginia Tech.
Jennifer plans to publish a canine-related nonfiction book in July 2025. Her dedication to dogs extends beyond writing; she trains her dog, Luce, in various disciplines such as agility, tricks, rally, obedience, nose work, and canicross. Jennifer actively competes in canine obstacle course races internationally.
In October 2024, Jennifer hosted the first Canicross race in the Commonwealth of Virginia, which drew over 135 human and dog teams. This groundbreaking event was sanctioned by North American Canicross (NACC). Due to the high attendance and strong sponsorship, the race will be held annually moving forward.
Jennifer is very active in her community and serves as the Chair of the Board for the Louisa Community Animal Response Team (CART). She holds many certifications, memberships and Afiiliation which can be seen below.
